The World Health Organization (WHO) does not recommend travel restrictions.On Friday 1 May the WHO issued information relating to travel restrictions, providing reasons why it does not recommend travel restrictions related to the outbreak of Influenza A(H1N1) virus.

The World Health Organization (WHO) does not recommend travel restrictions.


On Friday 1 May the WHO issued information relating to travel restrictions, providing reasons why it does not recommend travel restrictions related to the outbreak of Influenza A(H1N1) virus.

The WHO's rationale is that limiting travel and imposing travel restrictions would have very little effect on stopping the virus from spreading, but would be highly disruptive to the global community.

WHO: No rationale for travel restrictions.
